82 years young boy.

Sometimes at younger age we feel we are tired, and we feel we are old, and we can't do much work. But how about a gentle man of 82 is young and doing all works without tired !!! let us talk about this guy.

He is Prof B K Kambi, retired H O D from Chemistry dept in our home town. He is having 3 daughters and a son. All married, well settled and having kids. Most of the works will be executed by him only with no tiredness!! I see he is only person of contact for all issues, problems and any questions. Many times I saw him booking train or bus tickets for his grand kids, who are software engineers in Bangalore !!! For all his kids and grand kids he is grand pillar !!  None of the small decisions will be taken without him. And he is troubleshooter for his neighbours and all his relatives.

if anyone fall sick he is the first person to be with them, I remember when my friend Pavan, his grandson was not well and hospitalized in Bangalore, I saw Prof B K Kambi in the hospital next day. This is what he is, highly caring person, down to earth, no compromise for health and security.

You know after retirement he started farming, and he won many awards in farming, as best farmer in that area !!! His motto of farming is to feed poor people with low cost. He sells his products to very less price.

This young restless person at the age of 82 is unbelievable !!! When I feel that I'm lazy I remember this guy and resume my work.

Exploring abilities

At the maximum how much work we can execute, or how many task we can do at single time ? Sometime when we overloaded with work we simply give up. Here either we need to be extraordinary to do multitasking, or We should be having supernatural powers.

I've a friend called Sarang, he is my collogue in working company. Recently he organised a team outing to Mekedatu, it's about 80kms from Bangalore. We had been here on Thursday but decision was taken on previous day !! it's on Wednesday. And all the arrangements were done by Sarang.

He immediately sent email to all, saying that tomorrow we are going to this place, so please be on time and do not bring anything just come with extra cloths if you want to have bath in river. I was little shocked and concerned about food, I thought there might be some good hotels. Next day morning we all were on time, and Sarang came in a luxury bus, which was 22 seater, but we were 11. he told all can occupy window seats so that no one will get hurt when they don't get !! Next, Bus was very nice, including JBL speakers and have been provided with mic. So if our interested songs can be played.

Then while going we stopped the bus near Sarang'r room, he told there are few stuffs need to loaded into bus, so please help. We thought some snacks. But there were big luggages to be loaded into bus. Which he had prepared previous night. I was wondering what all is there in these luggages. When destination came we had been to bank of river and then unloaded all the luggages.

We were really shocked by seeing the stuffs inside the big bags. You know there was gas cylinder, burner, utensils, vegetables, chicken, soft drinks, hot drinks, leather balls, poker set, guitar and many more things! we should not fee that something we are missing ! including tea powder, sugar, milk, curd, washing powder and all. You know, all the things were there to prepare food and enjoy time. Here the matter is all these arrangements were done by a single person in over night though he has some exams and commitments!!!

I was really shocked by seeing his organisation ability and management skills, he planned nicely including vehicle booking with good bargain, shopping, collecting music file, etc etc.I feel it's all about our mind set and opportunities. Just we need to jump into the problems and solve. Thats it. I was thinking why I did not give try to organise such event. May be let me try once :)

When I met Sri Manjunathji : Views on Death

How do we think or do we act, when we comes to know that we are going to die in few days ? And what will be our view when we loose our close ones at early age ?

One day evening I had been to see a patient with a RSS senior. I did not know about him. I thought his illness is not that serious. But unfortunately he was waiting for his death!

He is from Mangalore one of RSS activist from Mangalore. Having pvt business and having 2 sweet kids. Very Hard worker. The way he manages work was just awesome. One day he fell sick suddenly and when he saw his medical report he came to know that his both kidneys are gone! only one kidney is working 20%, and He is on dialysis for the past 6 months. and Doctor told him that only God can save you!!!

Context is his view on death. When the senior with whom i had been, told him that nothing will happen and you will be all-right in few days. His reply was " I'm not worried much, I've mixed feeling. Bad feeling is I could not serve my wife and kids much. And after some days I won't be with them.  And only good feeling is once I die I can meet my father and mother who died recently!! it's been more than 3 year I haven't met them. At least now I'll get chance to meet them, And I wish my wife and kids get more energy and ability to lead their life smoothly "

I was shocked by that reply!! I don't think our feeling will be like this when we are waiting for our death. I see people cursing their failures telling that we lost our parent at early age and hence we could not do better or we could not succeed. But we all are going to meet them when we die.

When I met RNK kaka : Views on age

How are we taking care of our closed ones ? or how are we preparing for them ?

When I was in schooling RNK was senior most RSS person in Gokak, and he was one of the default orator. RNK is retired Banker. Any new projects, camps and initiatives he is the monitor of all.

His management skills are excellent and communication too. That time he was 65. After long time I met him today Now he is 80 !!! the same physic, same command in the voice and the same memory. When I knocked his door with KAKA ( uncle ), before opening the door he recognised me that ' oh Chetan ! come '  that to after 15 years without any fraction of second !!!. That shocked me literally.

Now he has to be in house all the time since his wife is bed ridden, he is taking care of her A to Z activities. He cant go outside even for ten minutes. Appreciated his love towards his wife at this age.

When I had been in the morning he was shaving his beard. then later I asked him why you do this daily since you will be at home and you face tough during shaving and moreover you will not be going outside !!!. He strongly replied " My wife my be down, but I'm not ! and I want to maintain cleaned face like marriage days and now I'm the only person for her to take care of. And She will be looking my face daily, if I look sick she my feel bad " By this time my eyes were watered.

I see lot of my young friends don't do shaving or don't even take bath daily !!! This might not affect us, but for others it affects a lot. When we see a guy with neatness and good physic, we feel proud of them. And when our parents look us at they should feel proud of us that at least we are neat. At least by seeing RNK kaka, we have lot of things to learn.

Customs in India

Sometimes we don't like customs and beliefs in our festivals, our temples or in our society. The way we celebrate, the time we spend in rituals or festivals. If we go to temple, at least half day will go in queue and some money for buying and parking. And in house if some festival comes, we involve full day. And regarding beliefs, if we cross some river, we need to put some money. And while travelling in train if  transgender comes,we should give money, if we don't something bad will happen!!

One day I was travelling in train, a  transgender came  for asking money. Generally I give money, I don't know why, may be I don't want to  create some scene. And sometimes I think because of God's mistake we need to end up in paying some money! this is the one of reason I don't believe in God! That day in train I was in last seat of the last bogie, so she was waiting for next station. Generally I don't speak with them, but that lady was good, she was not forcing anyone to give money. Just she was requesting. So I thought of talking with her.

I asked her, What did you study, she told she left schooling at 3rd standard, though parents were rich and they left her alone in train. It was a long story. but the point I wanted to discuss here is about her earnings. She told, daily she would able to collect 500 to 600, out of which she could able to save daily 400Rs in pvt bank for her savings. Yeah that sounds good, later I asked do people give money without any hesitation ? yeah she told some ppl give happily believing that something good will happen. Yes here may be our customs or beliefs helping such persons.

Then I started realising in temples and festivals how many people are getting help. And when I dig more into it, I came to know that 17% of retailers are depend upon Indian festivals and rituals. Be it be sculptures in Ganesha fest, poojaris in temples, small shops near temples, beggars, sadhus, drivers, even government and many more people. Country cannot provide jobs to all, at least here in our country people are engaged in such works...!

Hope westernisation will not affect these people.

Are we Physically Fit ?

Some day we face few situations like, when people introduce us to others, they may just look at us to judge whether they are right or not! or if our manager introduce to others that he or she is going to execute the task, first they may have a casual look at us. Yes it is human Nature. If lot of people are discussing about some big person, we will be having some curiosity about the celebrity.

Initially in my college days I faced such situations, when my friends and relatives use to introduce me, always they will be thinking that I'm short or have sick look. So they might think that they may be wrong. We might be toppers in studies but physical fitness counts a lot. One day when my father introduced me that I'm working as software engineer in Bangalore, literally the other guy did not believe.

Then I decided that When I start earning I should concentrate on my health and fitness, and now I feel I'm more energetic than olden days. Now having 8 packs too! it is a different story. But the point here to discuss is about necessity of being physically fit? Yes it is utmost necessary now! Here are my following concerns..

Are we fit enough to run some distance with fast phase, at least to catch slow running bus or train?
Are we fit to climb 50 steps without slowing down?
Are we healthy enough to do single night out for any work or studies ?
Is our health is stable enough to skip food for a day or two ?
Do we have fit physic look, at least others think once before they hit us or cheat us ?
Are we energetic to carry a filled cylinder or 20 litre water can ?
Are we fit enough to walk few kms at least?
Are we courageous enough to save our own sisters and brothers if any bad thing happens?
Or at least are we resistance enough for weather change or if we stuck in heavy rain?

If a country has physical fit citizens then no doubt it will be one of the best counties in the world.
